Rams Club members and Carolina fans always support their Tar Heels, and for GiveUNC — a day when alumni, friends, faculty, staff and other Carolina supporters come together to support the causes they care about most — it was no different. Alumni, family and friends made the latest edition of GiveUNC, held on March 29, the most successful giving day to date, with $15,946,394 raised from 9,410 donors to Carolina schools and units.

To support Carolina Athletics on GiveUNC, donors were asked to make gifts to team support, FORevHER Tar Heels or The Rams Club. A total of $1,831,820 from 846 donors was raised on GiveUNC to support those programs.

The top three fundraising teams by dollars were Men’s Basketball, Volleyball and Wrestling. The top three fundraising teams by number of donors were Track & Field, Wrestling and Rowing.

Donors also rose to meet unique challenges on GiveUNC. Track & Field unlocked a $250,000 scholarship endowment gift from Michael ’84, ’88 and Pam ’88 Wilson. Wrestling unlocked a $20,000 challenge gift to its program from Spencer Nadolsky ’07. Rowing secured an additional $72,000 toward its operating endowment as Cassandra Weatherford and Allen Hammonds donated $1,000 for each gift to Rowing.
