Associate/Assistant Director of Stewardship

SUMMARY

The Associate/Assistant Director of Stewardship supports the overall vision and strategy of The Rams Club team by working to recognize, inform, and engage donors while illustrating the impact of giving to Carolina Athletics. This position will report directly to the Director of Stewardship & Signature Programs on the Member Services team and will work closely with other team members to effectively promote The Rams Club and Carolina Athletics. Core responsibilities include ensuring the success of a comprehensive gift acknowledgement process, managing/supporting Annual Fund stewardship, developing creative ideas to engage with The Rams Club’s 20,000+ members, and assisting with efforts to promote The Rams Club’s fundraising priorities.

Primary Areas of Focus: Stewardship, Membership Satisfaction and Engagement, Events, Hospitality.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

STEWARDSHIP & OPERATIONS

In collaboration with the Director of Stewardship & Signature Programs, along with other members of The Rams Club team, manage, support, develop, and/or implement a robust stewardship plan, including but not limited to:

  • The Rams Club’s acknowledgement process to ensure all gifts are timely and appropriately acknowledged
  • Game day member appreciation initiatives
  • Heels Deals discount program to renew current partners and solicit new ones
  • Milestone giving plan to recognize years of giving
  • Student-athlete Thank-a-Thons and coordinate with teams to collect thank you notes for donors
  • New member stewardship for premium Annual Fund members
  • Stewardship plans for major giving donors
  • Fiscal year closeout initiatives for Rams Club members
  • Planning and execution of strategic events designed to steward members and promote the organization’s goals at direction of Director of Special Events
  • New and creative ways to steward and engage donors at various giving levels
  • Stewardship ideas for specific team supporters surrounding national championship wins
  • Collect thank you collateral for specific gifts from coaches and teams
  • Coordinate with communications team to develop plan to utilize social media for stewardship
  • Scholarship student-athlete assignment process
  • Development of annual impact reports

 

MEMBER SATISFACTION & ENGAGEMENT

  • Execute member benefits and experiences to assist all aspects of the Member Services team
  • Provide superior customer service to members, student-athletes, parents, coaches, Athletic Department staff and campus partners
  • Develop relationships with existing and prospective donors
  • Respond to general member inquiries via phone and email communication
  • Assist with the fulfillment and distribution of tickets and parking passes, game day hospitality and other general gameday operations

 

REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • To be considered for the Associate Director of Stewardship: Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of direct relevant work experience Master’s Degree Preferred.
  • To be considered for the Assistant Director of Stewardship: Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of related experience and education. Master’s Degree Preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong proofreading skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle time pressures and competing priorities during peak periods
  • Previous experience in development or higher education. Experience in college athletics preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • A gratitude focused mindset
  • Familiarity and basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently toward goals and take initiative with minimal supervision
  • Comfortability with working games and events outside of normal business hours
