Introducing the Baseball Excellence Fund

Help support the continued success of the Diamond Heels' program.

June 18, 2026

Carolina Baseball continues to represent the University of North Carolina at the highest level, and its current run in the College World Series is another reminder of the standard of excellence this program has built over many years.

The expectation of excellence starts with Coach Scott Forbes and his staff, and it is pursued daily by the talented student-athletes who compete, train, and represent Carolina with pride. It is also made possible by the lettermen, fans, and Rams Club members who invest in the resources needed for the program to continue competing for ACC and College World Series championships.

To help support the continued success of the program, The Rams Club has established the Baseball Excellence Fund, which will provide immediate, unrestricted support for Carolina Baseball. This flexible funding is increasingly important in college athletics today. It allows the program to respond quickly to its most pressing needs while also taking advantage of opportunities that strengthen its competitive position. Gifts to the Baseball Excellence Fund receive two Priority Points per $100 contributed.

Support for the Baseball Excellence Fund gives Carolina Baseball the ability to direct resources where they are needed most, including:

  • To meet the evolving demands of college baseball

The landscape of college athletics continues to change, and baseball is no exception. Resources from the Baseball Excellence Fund can help the program adapt through roster management, recruiting, technology and other emerging areas that impact Carolina’s ability to compete.

  • To enhance the student-athlete experience

The Carolina student-athlete experience creates champions in competition, the classroom, and the Chapel Hill community. Supporting this fund will directly benefit Baseball student-athletes through player development, academic support, performance training, nutrition, and mental health resources.

  • To support Coach Forbes and his staff

Sustained success requires a strong infrastructure around the program. The Baseball Excellence Fund provides financial flexibility to Coach Forbes and his staff, equipping the program with the resources needed to compete at the highest level each year.

Carolina Baseball has a proud tradition of competing for championships in the ACC and on the national stage in Omaha, highlighted by their third trip to the College World Series Finals this weekend. As the program continues to pursue its goals as one of the country’s premier baseball programs, support from Rams Club members will play a crucial role in helping the Tar Heels remain positioned for long-term success.
