Below are important year-end deadlines and reminders for members who would like to receive tax benefits for calendar year 2025 gifts. The Rams Club offices are closed Tuesday, December 23, through Friday, December 26. The office will be closed on Thursday, January 1; however, the ramsclub@ramsclub.com email address will be monitored on that day. The Rams Club’s office hours are different from those of the University, which can be found here.

To ensure tax deductibility for a charitable gift for 2025 income tax reporting purposes, Rams Club members must make your contribution by December 31, 2025. For more information about outstanding pledges on your account, including your 2025-26 membership gift, please visit the Manage My Donations page on your account by clicking here.

Here are reminders about how your gifts can count as tax contributions for 2025:

GIFTS BY CHECK

If you mail a check, the envelope must have a postmark of December 31 to be counted for tax purposes for 2025.

Please note that the United States Postal Service (USPS) has changed their mail processing to now go through regional processing centers, where machine postmarks are applied rather than at the local drop-off point. This can result in a postmark date that is several days later than when a piece of mail is dropped off or collected.

To help ensure your mailed gift receives a 2025 postmark, we strongly recommend mailing checks/remit forms no later than December 23.

GIFTS BY CREDIT CARD

Credit card gifts must be completed before 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31. Gifts by credit card can be made:

• Online by logging into their Rams Club account here, or
• By phone by calling The Rams Club at 919.843.2000 during normal business hours.

The Rams Club discourages sending credit card information by mail during this time of year. You should never send credit card information via email or fax to The Rams Club nor anyone else.

GIFTS BY STOCK

Electronic transfer of stock must be out of your control AND in The Rams Club’s account no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, when the stock market closes for the year. The Rams Club recommends completing your stock gift by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26. The earlier you make your transaction, the better.

GIFTS BY CASH WIRE
