The Rams Club is the fundraising arm of Carolina Athletics, dedicated to creating meaningful opportunities for student-athletes at the University of North Carolina. POSITION SUMMARY
The Member Services Interns are key members of The Rams Club’s Member Services Team, working collaboratively across our organization and closely with the Annual Fund team. This role serves as a primary point of contact for current and prospective members while supporting the execution of the annual membership cycle, ticket and parking operations, stewardship initiatives, and game-day experiences. Interns will gain hands-on experience in donor relations, database management, and event coordination within a fast-paced collegiate athletics environment. This position reports to Morgan Shump, Associate Director of Stewardship. There are two openings for this role.
Key Dates
The ideal start date is the first week of May 2026, running through June 30, 2027.
Work Schedule & Hours
Monday – Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. Occasional overtime required, including evenings and weekends to support all home football and men’s basketball games, occasional Olympic sport games and special events.
Work Environment
This position is an in-person position based on the campus of The University of North Carolina.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Four-year bachelor’s degree required. One year of experience in collegiate athletics or athletics development preferred.
NECESSARY SKILLS:
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of database systems such as Paciolan, Salesforce and other database management systems
- Positive attitude and willingness to go above prescribed responsibilities
- Ability to interact, write, speak and communicate clearly with our donors and constituents, while portraying a professional image and demeanor
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work tasks
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to drive and some travel is expected. Evening, weekend, and holiday work required.
- Ability to see, hear, speak, maintain cognitive function at a high level and move around the office, along with ability to lift 20 pounds.
- Ability to attend athletic events in varying environments including inclement weather.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as primary initial contact for current and prospective Rams Club members via phone and email communication
- Assist the Member Services team with executing individual ticket and parking assignments for football and basketball games, facilitate large mailings
- Assist in the execution of The Rams Club’s annual membership cycle (database management, communications, etc.)
- Assist in the planning and coordination of game-day member stewardship efforts
- Assist with Student Ram recruitment efforts and other program needs and events (Junior Rams Club, Kids Club)
- Support the Annual Fund team by developing and executing strategies for growing membership and increasing retention rate
- Attend all home football and basketball games as well as special events as necessary, provide campus/facility tours to donors as needed
