Eric's primary responsibility as Senior Director of Principal Gifts is to build strategic direction and execute Principal Gift fundraising efforts for the Rams Club. He also manages a process of Principal Gift goal setting and Principal Gift prospect management for Major Gift Fundraisers.

During basketball season, Eric provides color commentary for the UNC Men's Basketball radio broadcast on the Tar Heel Sports Network, working alongside play by play announcer, Jones Angell.

Eric was a four-year scholarship student-athlete on the UNC Basketball team from 1990-1994. During his time at Carolina, Eric played in two Final Fours and was a member of the 1993 NCAA National Championship team. He was drafted ninth overall in the 1993 NBA draft by the Boston Celtics and spent 10 seasons in the NBA.

In addition to his work with The Rams Club and THSN, he and his wife Laura founded the Eric Montross Father's Day Basketball Camp, with proceeds benefitting the UNC Children's Hospital. Additionally, Eric serves on the boards of the two local non-profits; the Be Loud! Sophie Foundation and is board member and co-founder of Vaccine Ambassadors.

A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Eric and his wife Laura live in Chapel Hill.
